In "Spring, NYC," Glen Wilbert photographs the Solomon R. Guggenheim Museum in New York, framing the smooth curved coils of its spiral facade beside the flat grid of an adjacent building, with a single bare branch in early bloom hanging into the upper left of the frame.
The image is rendered in a very high-key black and white, almost white on white, so the rounded forms of the Guggenheim read as soft gradations of pale gray rather than hard edges. Glen set the museum's sweeping curves against the regular windows and straight lines of the neighboring tower, contrasting organic and rectilinear architecture.
