Freedom Tower Reflection

from $125.50

In "Freedom Tower Reflection," Glen Wilbert photographs One World Trade Center mirrored in water, framing a sweeping curved edge where a band of orange meets deep blue and the tower appears as a soft vertical reflection.

The image is built on a single bold curve and two fields of color: warm orange along the upper right, cool blue filling the lower left, divided by a clean pale arc. Within the orange band, the reflected skyline and the slim shape of the tower shimmer in broken vertical streaks on the moving water. Glen framed the scene so the curve becomes the dominant line, turning a reflection into a near-abstract composition of color and shape.

The Freedom Tower, built at the site of the original World Trade Center in Lower Manhattan, is the tallest building in the United States. Glen photographs it indirectly, as a reflection rather than a portrait, in keeping with his minimalist approach to landmarks.

A study in pastel color and curve, where a New York landmark is read through its reflection.
